Travis Mushett
Film scholar and podcaster exploring the intersections of cinema, fascism, and moral crisis. Teaching at Fordham and Marymount Manhattan.
I'm a professor of film and media at Fordham University and Marymount Manhattan College, where I teach courses on cinema, cultural history, and the intersection of art and politics.
My work explores the relationship between cinema and fascism, with particular focus on Weimar-era German film. I'm interested in how moving images shape political consciousness and how art can serve as both a tool of resistance and a site of ethical inquiry.
Beyond the classroom, I host The Haunted Screen, a narrative podcast that examines the historical and contemporary intersections of film, politics, and ideology. Previously, I served as editor-in-chief of Blunderbuss, a literary magazine dedicated to radical empathy and visceral humanism.
